What to avoid before your treatment?

  • Consuming alcohol 24 hours prior to your treatment.

  • Waxing, bleaching, tweezing or hair removal creams in the treatment area for 2 days prior.

  • Topical products such as tretinoin (Retin A), retinol, retinoids, glycolic acid for a week prior to your appointment.

  • To decrease your risk of bruising, avoid taking blood-thinning medications one week prior to procedure e.g. aspirin, brufen, and over the counter medications such as such fish oil, vitamin E supplements, St Johns wort, garlic, ginko biloba, and ginseng. However, if you are on prescription blood thinners please consult your primary care physician before stopping any medication.

Post-treatment guidelines:

  • Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days after the treatment.

  • Apply a gel or ice pack to the treated area to reduce swelling and bruising.

  • Avoid excessive sunlight and UV lamp exposure Avoid vigorous activity for 24hrs
